Color Challenge Card...

I love playing in color challenges, and when I first saw THIS ONE on my good friend Ashley's blog, I knew I wanted to play. However, I also thought it would be easy and today I was having the hardest time! :) I think this card for sure looks better in person, but its still not my fav card. It needs something...any ideas? :)
So, on the Saffron piece on the bottom, its hard to tell, but I ran it through the Big Shot to give it some texture, then used my sponge to rub some Saffron ink onto it to make the dots pop a bit more. So much fun! :)
The flowers use two different techniques, the rock n' roll technique and the kissing technique.

Wahoo!!!...

Well, first things first...my boxes of the NEW catalog finally came and oh my goodness, there are some amazing, fabulous, great, etc, etc...new things. I am so excited! My husband thought I was crazy, but he just doesn't get it. So exciting! If you need a copy let me know! You can start ordering the new things on Monday the 19th! :)
Anyway...Kristina posted this weeks color challenge this morning. I think these colors are fun, and I wanted to give you a sneak peek of one of the new sets in the catalog. One great thing about being a demo is we get the chance to pre-order select sets so we can start playing with them and getting ready for classes and workshops...ok, back to the card. :) This set is full of fun bold flowers, and the one flower fits perfectly in the scallop circle punch. :) Enjoy! :)

Color Challenge #36...

Its time for another color challenge over on Kristina's Blog. Again, I will say, if you haven't checked these out you definitely should! They are a lot of fun. I am glad I made it this week. I was busy cleaning yesterday to have friends come over for New Years Eve, and then today I was out with my hubby for our anniversary. We got home and I had just a bit of time, so of course I had to try and see if I could do it. :) So, I guess this week I got two challenges in one...a color challenge and a time challenge. :) Don't look to close at my card...in my quick hurry, my words are crooked. :)
The image I used is from a new Hostess set called Goody Goody Gumdrops. It will be available Jan. 19th!!! Yeah!!! :)

A Color Challenge...No!

I really wanted to participate in this weeks color challenge on Kristina's blog but apparently these were tough colors for me. I tried so many different things and these were the best two. Scary huh! I guess I just wasn't feeling it...even my hubby told me that they weren't "up to par." Oh well. :) I still wanted to post them just to show I tried, but I didn't enter them in the challenge. :) I think my problem was I made these little button flowers and was really wanting to use them but I just couldn't come up with a WAY to use them. :)

Color Inspiration Challenge #30...

I have missed the last couple color challenges over on Kristina Werner's Blog but tonight I had a little time so I thought I would play real fast. :)
I am loving using this stamp as Christmas trees and since I still had this stamp sitting on my desk since using it to make my Christmas card for my class I just basically made the same card, only using these colors instead. :) Oh, however, I realized tonight that I don't have Sahara Sand *gasp* I know, so I used Kraft instead. :)

Color Challenge #26...

Yep, its that time again. Time for another Color Inspiration Challenge over at Kristina Werner's. I was really excited when I saw the picture and the colors, but for two days I couldn't come up with something. I would start, but nothing seemed right. So I have been working on my club projects for the month and I have been making a cute turkey and his feathers are folded like the petals of my flower. :) I think you can guess where I am going with this, I was looking at the feathers and thought that making them in the color challenge colors it would be perfect! :) I learned the cool technique from our monthly Stampin' Up! magazine, just in case you were wondering. :)

Deborah's Color Challenge #1...

My awesome friend Deborah has started doing color inspiration challenges over on her blog. I thought I would give it a try, plus each month she will pick her favorite and they will win some fabulous blog candy. Yea! :) So go on over and give it a try!

I have to say, I have never used Really Rust or Night of Navy, so it was good to finally use them, plus I decided to kill two birds and made it a birthday card for my cousin. :) Perfect! Color Challenge #25 and a Get Well Card...

Well, its time for another Color Challenge on Kristina Werners Blog. I love doing the color challenges, they definitely make me think out of the box as far as color combos. This weeks colors are so fun. I really want the bedding from Ikea that is in the picture.

So, I was loving making the Nested Flowers, so I decided to make some more.

After I made the one for the color challenge I needed a get well card for my sweet friend Jane. She had knee surgery yesterday and I hope she gets feeling better quickly. :) I decided to keep the same layout as my other card, but simplified it a little and I actually stitched with embroidery floss on the card. I really like the way it turned out. :)

Color Challenge #23...

Look how fun the colors for this weeks color challenge are. Kristina Werner always has such fun color challenges...although, I had a really hard time this week. I guess that's why its a challenge! :) I tried and tried so many things, but it just wasn't coming together how I had planned. I guess I finally found something that would work...that or I was just sick of trying :)...but here it is. Now that I look at the picture I am thinking I would have rather done the main card in chocolate chip instead of the olive, maybe I will make another one and see what happens. :)

Color Inspiration Challenge #21...

Yeah!!! Another color challenge. I really like that Kristina does these fun color challenges, because there have been so many color combos I would have never thought of putting together. Anyway, here is my card for this challenge...I have seen the idea of cutting the scallops to look like a flower and finally did it. It is so easy and it gives a whole other use for the scallop punch! :)

I was so excited to see this weeks color challenge, I still don't have all the colors of ink and card stock, but this week I had every one that I needed! :) As soon as I saw the inspiration picture, I knew what stamp set I wanted to use and what I wanted to do. Well it definitely didn't come out the way I pictured it, but I think it works! :)

Color Challenge #15...

Its time for another fabulous color challenge from Kristina. Although this weeks colors were really hard and I'm still not sure I like what I came up with. I ran out of time to try again though, so it is what it is! :) This weeks colors are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. Not sure if they are my favorite colors together, but I'm glad that I did it because I would have never thought to put them together. I think my card is a little plain, (I think it needs a ribbon somewhere) but I was really trying to focus on the lace stuff that is in the picture. Enjoy!

Color Challenge #14

It is Color Challenge time again on Kristina's Blog. I have missed not being able to do the last couple challenges because I didn't have the colors, so I was excited to see that this new challenge had at least a couple of colors that I have. The instructions were to create a 'high-contrast, bold creation'. I think I got the contrast part, but I think I struggled with the bold part.

Anyway, here it is. I used the Independence Day and the Short & Sweet sets, and I used one of my favorite tools, the cutter kit, to distress the edges of my card stock. In the end, I like how it turned out. It looks like a masculine birthday card to me. Enjoy! Everything is Stampin' Up! except the black and grey card stock.

Color Inspiration Challenge #11

It's time for another color challenge. I am so glad that Kristina does these challenges, because I don't think I would have ever put these colors together. This is the inspiration she found from Ikea.

This is what I made...I really tried to focus on the stripes on the comforter. I really liked the way it turned out. Its hard to tell but I embossed the flower and the word fabulous, and then all the strips of yellow paper I cut and inked. :) Enjoy!

Fun Colors...

Awhile back Kristina Werner had her color challenge and even though I didn't get my card done in time for the challenge, I still loved the colors and wanted to make something. I made this card for a contest on the Clip-it-Up website. I love love love that product...its definitely a fave. Anyway, the colors for the challenge were Orchid Opulence, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Whisper White. I love this stamp set and it is retired...so sad, I know but it still one of my favorite sets. Its hard to tell from the picture, but on top of the purple flowers I put Iridescent Ice and Crystal Effects. Definitely much more sparkly in person.

My First Challenge...

Every week Kristina Werner does a Color Inspiration Challenge. This is the first week I have finished one on time! :) This is the inspiration for this week, it came from Martha Stewart.




The colors are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Old Olive & Tempting Turquoise.

This is what I came up with!

I love these colors, they remind me of summer. It would be nice if we could get a couple days in a row that felt like summer, but in the mean time these fun colors will work! :) I used the blender pens to color the star, but I'm not sure if it shows up very well. All Supplies Stampin' Up!
